I've been having issues with other motion sensors falling off my network, so wanted to give this one a try as inovelli's switches are the best. While it is reporting all the sensors properly and doing a great job staying on my network, I was quite disappointed with the range of the motion detector. As another reviewer stated, the spec says 16ft of range, but my experience has been that it doesn't see beyond 8-10 ft, and the radius doesn't seem up to spec either. It's also a bit larger than the SmartThings branded sensors I have, although the battery life may be worth that trade-off. I'll hold on to it to see if it improves, and do appreciate the projected battery life. I don't think I'll be replacing other sensors with this one anytime in the near future.
This 4 in 1 sensor works great for my purposes. I've had a few different Z-Wave multi-sensors over the years. This one is more reliable, more energy efficient and relatively inexpensive compared to the others I've used. All 4 sensors work with my Indigo home automation software out of the box as well. I use these in our bathrooms to sense motion, temperature and relative humidity (light level is nice too).
Very handy and easy to set up. Lot of options which is always key so it can match up with anything someone is looking to do.
I have tried a lot of motion/multi-sensors and of the bunch, this one is by far my favorite! It looks a lot like the Aeotec on pictures, but having one of those as well (unused on a shelf) I can say for sure that it is very different, and much better! The inovelli 4 in 1 sensor is built very solidly. It has a versatile base that can be secured to a surface by an included sticker or included screws. I have used the sticker and it works great! Some of the things I like - the temperature and humidity sensors seem to be very accurate. The motion sensor can be tuned up and down, which is really useful. Finally, the Illuminance sensor works extremely well! I will buy more when I need new sensors.
The sensor even when set to the most sensitive does not trigger when waving my hand when slightly off center (< 30 degrees) at 6-8 ft away. The device doesn't pick up anything past 10.6 ft in my testing even if you are dead center. The device is advertised as DetectionAngle:110°±10° with 2.5m mountingheight and DetectionDistance:16.4ft(5m). I just don't get that with my sensor so that is the underlying reason I'm giving this 3 stars. It's nice that it reads temperature and humidity. The temperature and humidity numbers match closely to the NYCE ncz-3043-ha in my system. The NYCE is a different type of motion detector that does a great job within a radius mounted to a ceiling. I have a Dome motion sensor (DMMS1) which does a much better job of reporting activity.
