Aeotec Motion Sensor (Zigbee 3.0)
This sensor should be used for motion detection and temperature monitoring.
NOTE: Some of these features may only work on certain hubs. Please check the, "Compatible Hub" section below for full compatibility notes. For the best experience, please use with the Aeotec SmartThings Hub.
- Motion Detection (up to 15ft w/120 degree view range)
Place the motion sensor on the magnetic stand and monitor various motion events such as: pets wandering into rooms they're not supposed to, toddlers roaming at night in the hallway, or catch that cookie jar raider!
Automatically turn on fans or a smart thermostat based on the temperature in the room.
- Trigger Animated Notifications
Use any of the variables above to trigger heads up notifications on your Inovelli Smart 2-1 Switch. If motion is detected after bedtime, have your LED bars turn red (and if no motion, they can turn green indicating everything is ok) or if your LED bar pulses purple, you know your teenager is trying to sneak out again...
You may be wondering, why are you selling a competitors product on your site? It's an excellent question and one we're happy to address. Inovelli's mission is and always has been to create the best products at the best value with the best customer support. We're all smart home owners just like you and we want the best products in our own homes. Our specialty has always been lighting and we intend to stay focused on lighting. However, we want to be able to provide solutions for your entire house and be a part of something bigger than us. We had the opportunity to evaluate Aeotec as a brand and realized they and their products align with what we stand for (mentioned above). One of those products being this motion sensor. Here's why we like it:
Sure, there are other sensors out there that are much cheaper than this, but cheaper does not always mean better. Wherever you put this sensor, you have at least 2-3 different readings that are measured.
- Zigbee 3.0
Other sensors are finicky on the Zigbee network and often fall off, while also using a proprietary Zigbee stack. This one conforms to the same standards ours do (and what other should) making it easy to work with.
- Brand Support
Aeotec as a brand has been around since 2006, with heritage stemming from 1930, making them one of the oldest and stable IoT companies.
We've been working with Aeotec and SmartThings on ensuring seamless integration to your smart home using the latest technology (Edge Drivers)
NOTE: While we do believe the best experience with these sensors is on the SmartThings platform, these work great on Home Assistant, Hubitat and Amazon Echo's.
Thank you so much for your continued support and we look forward to providing you with the best products on the market.

While I did not purchase this from Inovelli, I have several of these in my house. I use SmartThings. I have an Inovelli Red Series Dimmer in my office. When the office door opens, the LED on my switch shows a short animation triggered by this sensor. Also, I have one of these sensors on my garage door. The LED on the switch in my office, as well as another Red Series dimmer in my living room and a Red Series On/Off in the master bathroom, turns red until the garage is closed. This lets me know in my office when someone is home. I also lets me know if I'm in the shower. And finally, the living room switch lets me know if, maybe it was left open by mistake. Love this sensor. It used to sell for around $20 when Samsung was making it (pre-pandemic, as well). It's still worth the $$. I've purchased one since Aeotec started producing, as well. Same switch, performs just as well. Thanks!
