FAQs
Please see our knowledge base for more information. Additionally, you can click on the red bubble to start a chat or submit a ticket.
What router/network requirements are there for Matter devices?
You will need to make sure IPv6 is turned on. If you are operating on a VLAN, the Matter Controller/Server must also operate on that VLAN. Finally, Matter devices and controllers must be on the same L2 network.
Does this switch require a hub?
Yes, this switch requires a hub that supports Thread.
What is the difference between the Red, White and Blue Series?
To understand the differences between the various series, please check out our article which breaks down the features of each.
Can I use this switch on multiple ceiling fans?
Yes, you can use this switch with multiple ceiling fans as long as the total load is below the max amperage (2.5A).
However, there is a limitation in that your high speed will work fine, but the low and medium speeds will be reduced by half due to those speeds being regulated by capacitors, which will limit the output power.
Are there any limitations in a non-neutral setup?
Yes, if you are using this switch in a non-neutral setup, there are a couple of limitations:
- You will not be able to use the high speed (only low and medium will work).
- You will not be able to use this switch on an exhaust fan.
Can this be used on exhaust and ceiling fans?
Yes, this switch can be used on both Exhaust or Ceiling Fans if they have AC Motors. If you are looking for a switch that works as an On/Off switch for DC Motors, please check out our White Series On/Off Switch (w/Temperature and Humidity Sensing).
Can this be used with DC Fan Motors?
No, this can only be used with AC Fan Motors.
Can this be used for lighting?
No, this switch cannot be used with any sort of lighting. We recommend the White Series Dimmer Switch.
Can I use this on a shared fan and light load?
No, this switch is to only be used on AC fan loads. If your ceiling fan has both a light and fan motor, we suggest the White Series Fan/Light Canopy Module. If your exhaust fan has both a light and a fan motor, we suggest the White Series On/Off Switch (w/Temperature and Humidity Sensors).
Does this switch support 240V or 277V?
No, this switch only supports 120V. If you're looking for a 277V option, please check out our On/Off Switch (w/Temperature and Humidity Sensing).
Can you turn off the LED Bar?
Yes, you can set the LED Bar intensity (off to 100%) when the light is on or off.
Is there a faceplate included? If not, what faceplate do you recommend?
No, there is no faceplate inside the box. We recommend Lutron Claro faceplates as we based our colors off of them.
